Pop up restaurant on rails
SVH Master Chef Lars van Galen of Restaurant ’t Lansink in Hengelo uses our historic trains for creating a pop up restaurant on rails. ’t Lansink sees in our special historic location a good addition to the outdoor activities which they organise on a regular basis.
Chef Lars van Galen cooks for you
The first dining trip was on Saturday 9th April 2016 and it was a tasteful success that made it even to the Tubantia newspaper with a long article (dutch)! Check the atmospheric impression on Facebook. A journey report (dutch) has been written by one of the guests.

Parcels, crates, boxes, bales, sacks, barrels and baskets used to be unloaded from goods wagons into the shed after which they were loaded at the road side into road vehicles for furher transport. The former goods shed is now in use as station buffet (Restauratie) and most suitable to be hired for a company outing, meeting or event. Sound and vision euipment is available in-house and we may offer a complete restaurant and bar arrangement.
Hire your own train
Many people hardly realise that we have our trains also running for parties, to their own special timetable. We would appreciate to help you thinking about the best way to prepare a unique trip, day or presentation. Almost everything is possible, from a coffee with cake to a complete 4-course dinner.
All being served in a running steam train!
A visit to one of our museum locations followed by a steam train ride may also be combined with a short walk. We have prepared a few attractive routes (in Dutch) for you- varying from 2,25 – 6,3 kms (1.4 – 4 miles) which you may download and print, below.
